Job Title: Concrete Estimator/Project ManagerCompany: Knox Concrete Construction Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried Travel: LimitedPay: $51,000 - $76,000 (Salaried) based on experiencePosition OverviewWe are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Concrete Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This role combines estimating, project coordination, and sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive bid packages, building strong client relationships, and supporting projects from bid through handoff to field operations.This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with occasional weekend work as needed. Start times may vary, with some days beginning as early as 6:00 AM. Benefits are available after a 90-day introductory period (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k).Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and timely concrete bid packages based on project drawings and specificationsAnalyze plans and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) when clarification is neededManage bid schedules, deadlines, and priorities across multiple projectsPerform quantity takeoffs and obtain supplier pricing to develop project budgetsSolicit and evaluate vendor bids; negotiate pricing with suppliersOrganize and maintain bid documentation, including addendums, per company standardsSubmit bids on time and follow up with clients to drive sales and secure projectsBuild and maintain relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and industry partnersIdentify additional bidding opportunities and maximize bid exposureLead project handoff to field leadership, ensuring all documentation and scope details are completeAssist with submittals, material procurement, and contract processes for awarded projectsCollaborate with superintendents on scope changes, discrepancies, and change ordersActively prospect new business through cold calling and networkingContribute to process improvements, templates, and operational efficienciesContinuously develop knowledge of concrete construction and industry best practicesReview and understand contract terms to minimize risk in biddingQualificationsExperience in construction estimating (concrete experience preferred)Strong analytical, budgeting, and decision-making skillsProven ability to build and maintain vendor and client relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated with strong time management skillsProficient with computers and estimating software/toolsValid US Drivers LicenseCore CompetenciesProblem-solving and critical thinkingActive listening and effective communicationTime management and prioritizationAdaptability and continuous learningStrong work ethic and accountabilityPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periodsAbility to read small print and use visual aids as neededFrequent use of hands and fingers for typing and computer work
