Job description

Job Title: RN – 2S Renal

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Weekly Hours: 36 Hours

Schedule:
• Night Shift | 3x12 Hours
• Every Third Weekend & Holiday Commitment Required

Duration: 8 Weeks (High possibility of extension or permanent placement)

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced RN – 2S Renal to provide specialized nursing care within a 24-bed renal/medical-surgical unit focused on kidney disease and transplant patients. The RN will deliver evidence-based care, collaborate with nephrology and transplant teams, and support patients throughout the kidney transplant continuum.

Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for renal, transplant, and medical/surgical patients
• Perform holistic patient assessments (physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational)
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with interdisciplinary teams
• Administer medications, treatments, and dialysis-related care
• Perform peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods)
• Support kidney transplant and post-transplant care processes
• Use SBAR for standardized communication
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
• Float to other units as needed
• Provide remote telemetry monitoring support as required

Requirements:
• Medical/Surgical or Renal nursing experience preferred
• Kidney transplant experience preferred
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Ability to work nights, holidays, and every third weekend required
• Floating between units required
• Strong understanding of evidence-based nursing care required
• Diploma in Nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Active Ohio RN License or Compact License required
• BLS Certification required
• Renal/dialysis certification preferred
