Job Description Title: Automation Engineer Comp: $95,000-$100,000 Location: Lancaster, OH Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for an Automation Engineer direct hire position in Lancaster, OH. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems, robotics solutions, and controls strategies to improve production efficiency Lead automation projects including new equipment launches, system integration, and production line improvements Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, and machine vision systems Support and improve production performance through cycle time reduction, process optimization, and data-driven analysis Develop and integrate machine vision systems for inspection, quality control, and process validation Support Industry 4.0 initiatives including IIoT integration, smart manufacturing systems, and real-time production monitoring Collaborate with engineering, IT/OT, production, and external vendors on automation and controls initiatives Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts across production operations Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, standards, and control system procedures Train and support operations and engineering teams on automation systems and equipment functionality Required Skills (Must Have): Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering within a production environment Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation Experience with industrial robotics programming and troubleshooting (ABB, Fanuc, or Yaskawa) Hands-on manufacturing experience required (production environment exposure) Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred Experience integrating automation equipment into live production environments HMI/SCADA experience, preferably FactoryTalk Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and industrial control systems Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing facility Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): Project management experience leading automation or capital equipment projects Experience with machine vision systems (Keyence preferred) CAD experience (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) for layout and system design support Experience with Industry 4.0, IIoT, or smart factory initiatives Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement background Knowledge of industrial networking and IT/OT integration (EtherNet/IP, OPC, etc.) #ID9515
