Job description

SEWS - Ohio Customer Service Center (Marysville, OH)
BASIC PURPOSE:
  • Provide direct support and coordination of Safety programs across OCSC, ACSC, CCSC and KCSC locations, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and site-specific needs. Manages the safety programs for the facilities to ensure the safety of all associates. Ensuring compliance with SEWS, SWS and governmental safety rules, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance of company operations with federal, state, local and company requirements.
  • Maintain and update safety programs, procedures, and training materials to ensure compliance.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture by promoting awareness, accountability, and engagement at all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct and manage safety audits (daily, weekly, monthly, annual), ensuring timely tracking and closure of corrective actions
  • Provide Safety topics and awareness efforts to organization on a weekly, monthly basis or as needed.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis, development of corrective actions, and follow-up to ensure effective implementation.
  • Assist in industrial hygiene assessments (noise, chemical exposure, air quality, etc.) and support PPE and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, including near miss reporting, corrective actions, and process enhancements.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspection activities related to Safety
  • Coordinate emergency procedures including review, updates, training, and drills to test effectiveness (emergency evacuations, take cover, spill response, etc.). Maintain company contingency plans.
  • Lead risk assessments, hazard analysis, and SWS safety activities
  • Occasional travel is required to support multi-site operations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENT:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 1-3 years of progressive professional experience in safety, environmental, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours as needed.
