Job description

Professional estimator wanted to join our winning team for commercial framing, drywall and acoustic ceilings. Family-owned business with over 50 years of experience where you'll contribute as a key member of the team. You'll be working on multiple projects within a positive team environment and directly with our key customers. Whether you are a recent graduate looking for a place to launch your career or a seasoned professional looking for a positive change, your work here will be highly visible and deeply appreciated.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and thoroughly understand electronic blueprints and specifications
  • Using estimating software Quick Bid and On-Screen Takeoff, create accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Create and submit bid proposals to our customers
  • Communicate and follow-up directly with customers
  • Establish good relationships with customers
  • This position requires strong detail orientation

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in construction management or similar degree OR equivalent experience typically gained through a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating
    • Candidates with direct Division 9 experience acquired through working on construction sites are encouraged to apply
  • Thorough understanding of commercial construction - specifically Division 9
  • Computer proficient - experience with computer based estimating software
  • Experienced at handling multiple projects, prioritizing work effectively, and communicating effectively
  • Must be self-motivated and have a good business sense taking full ownership of the project being bid
  • Ability to read and thoroughly understand blueprints for commercial construction
