Summary:

This position will engage in production inspection equipment maintenance to ensure continuous production, including troubleshooting inspection equipment breakdowns, regular preventive maintenance plan execution, and equipment modification. This position will also support preventing quality issue in advance and maximize output (yield, OEE) through inspection equipment maintenance and improvement of performance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Inspection equipment troubleshooting
  • Monitor inspection machine operation, diagnose machine/ process issues and make machine adjustments
  • Immediate response to production floor needs and requirements
  • Be responsible to handle programming software, gather images and have foundational understanding of deep learning concepts.
  • Be responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation.
  • Communicate directly with the production department to coordinate troubleshooting equipment in production areas.
  • Basic knowledge of Gauge R&R, Six Sigma and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, inspection flow, control components - photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers and encoders.
  • Inspection method understanding ability to troubleshoot various status (I/O boards, encoder, light controller, modules and devices).
  • Inspection machine Preventive maintenance (PM)
  • PM Execution for inspection machines
  • Enter PM work order and results
  • Implement the predictive maintenance plan for the advancement of inspection equipment
  • Calibration to maintain inspection machine performance, support management of MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
  • Compliance with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations
  • Report singularity to Inspection Engineer
  • Report accidents and risk factors to Inspection Engineer
  • Monitoring/ improving inspection machine accuracy and detection power
  • For process-borne issues, feedback to the production and equipment departments
  • For issues attributable to the inspection machine, improvement plans are derived, and inspection conditions are optimized.
  • Continuous monitoring of the results of the measures
  • Support reducing overkilled NGs & assuring for quality by improving Inspection Performance (Undetected Real NGs, NG Leakage)
  • Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor
Education/ Experience:
  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related studies preferred. Production work experience in automated machines / IT is acceptable in exchange of education
  • Machine Vision Technician in a manufacturing or automotive engineering environment through an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar is preferred 
  • Experience with Vision and Inspection systems in manufacturing/ production environment preferred
  • Experience with schematic and diagram reading specifically with electric layout design preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to use logical thinking and decision making by focusing on identifying root cause objectively using data, analyzing production results, and following proven problem-solving methods
  • Basic Mechanical and Electrical knowledge required
  • Good computer, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products for reporting purposes is required
  • Communication ability to discuss with engineers onsite and in LG Energy solution in South Korea
  • Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets
Additional Requirements:
  • Requires work in clean room environment. Required to wear PPE, clean room suit and other gear during operation (up to a period of 12 hours)
  • Ability to work on production floor environment and regular attendance within our onsite operations
  • Hands on support of equipment
  • Flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary
  • This role could require up to 5% of travel (domestic or international)
