Job description

Human Resources Regional Coordinator

Position Summary

The Human Resources Regional Coordinator serves as a strategic partner to managers and employees by delivering high-quality HR operational support throughout the employee lifecycle. This role is responsible for administering core HR functions, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, maintaining HR data integrity, and driving process improvements that enhance the employee experience and operational efficiency. The HR Regional Coordinator collaborates closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to support Surge Staffing's business objectives while fostering a positive and compliant workplace.

Essential Responsibilities

HR Operations

  • Manage day-to-day Human Resources operations for an assigned region, ensuring efficient, accurate, and consistent HR service delivery.
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Interpret and apply company policies while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Oversee the integrity of employee data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and ensure data accuracy.

Onboarding

  • Manage all pre-employment and onboarding activities to deliver a seamless and engaging employee experience.
  • Prepare and administer employment offers and onboarding documentation.
  • Oversee completion of background screenings, employment eligibility verification, and required onboarding requirements.
  • Lead new hire orientation and continuously explore new opportunities to enhance and streamline the onboarding process.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure successful employee integration and workforce readiness.

Offboarding

  • Coordinate voluntary and involuntary separation processes while simultaneously exploring opportunities to enhance and improve such processes across the company.
  • Prepare separation documentation and ensure timely processing.
  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews and collect employee feedback.
  • Ensure completion of final HR processes, including equipment returns, and system access removal.
  • Partner with Payroll, IT, and department leadership to ensure a smooth separation process.

Employee Lifecycle Administration

  • Manage employee lifecycle transactions, including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and organizational updates.
  • Audit personnel records and employment documentation to ensure they are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Interpret employment documentation requirements and resolve complex administrative issues.
  • Provide direction to managers and employees regarding HR processes and employment documentation.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Assess and facilitate compliance with federal, state, local, and Company employment documentation requirements.
  • Administer record retention practices and personnel file compliance.
  • Lead HR documentation preparation for internal audits, external audits, and employment-related reviews.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze HR operational metrics, workforce data, and key performance indicators in order to identify trends and ensure alignment with company strategy and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards that feed into business and operational decision-making.
  • Identify workforce tendencies and develop and recommend process improvements to increase operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and provide data-driven recommendations to HR leadership.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead implementation of HR operational initiatives, process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Develop standardized HR processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Collaborate with Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, and operational leadership to ensure integrated HR service delivery consistent with the company's strategy and objectives
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and lead assigned operational initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to HR programs, workflows, and operational practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 24 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in staffing, multi-site, or high-volume environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) is preferred.
