Electrical Engineer
As an Electrical Engineer at Mid-City Electric, you’ll design and support complex, high-impact electrical systems while collaborating with some of the best talent in the industry. What You Will Be Doing:
As an Electrical Engineer at Mid-City, you’ll support project teams in the design, coordination, and implementation of electrical systems for new construction, renovation, and design-build projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure systems are safe, effective, and built to last.
  • Designing and coordinating electrical systems for commercial construction projects
  • Reviewing architectural and electrical drawings, specifications, and code requirements
  • Performing load calculations, lighting layouts, power distribution design, and system coordination studies
  • Preparing construction documents, including submittals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings
  • Selecting materials and equipment based on technical specs, cost, and energy efficiency
  • Ensuring designs meet NEC and local building codes
  • Providing job site support during installation and resolving field issues
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the construction industry
  • Working knowledge of NEC, local codes, and commercial electrical systems
  • PE license or working toward licensure
  • Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
