Job description

Position Summary: The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, specifying, and documenting components, assemblies, and products for new system builds. This role involves programming, testing, and supervising electrical system installations while collaborating with suppliers, contractors, and manufacturing engineers to improve quality and manufacturability.
Salary Range: $82,268-$123,402
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers on the design, specification, and documentation of components, assemblies, and products for new system builds.
  • Serve as the hardware engineer for major development projects or multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Ensure hardware installation activities are completed per design and documented throughout the concept, design, build, and launch phases of projects.
  • Perform, instruct, and supervise testing of new system installations.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to improve product quality, manufacturability, and value.
  • Interact regularly with suppliers, electrical contractors, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Review project progress, evaluate results, and recommend changes in procedures as needed.
  • Operate with substantial latitude for taking action or making decisions.
  • Initiate electrical drawings using CAD for new machine installations and efficiency improvements.
  • Create purchase orders for electrical parts and determine essential spare parts.
  • Program PLCs and HMIs for new installations and machine upgrades.
  • Plan strategically for new installations and the relocation of machinery.
  • Direct electrical technicians and provide detailed technical knowledge for electrical maintenance and engineering projects.
  • Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting plant equipment to minimize downtime.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production and/or automation build environment.

Essential Skills:
  • Broad knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in project management and process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize difficult assignments with changing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI programming.
