Job description

Process Engineering InternBusiness Title: Process Engineering InternPosition DescriptionFunction

The Process Engineering Intern will provide support to our team of industry experts in our Dublin, OH office. The purpose of this position is to participate in the development of engineering projects. The Engineering Co-op or Intern will assist engineers and senior engineers on project tasks. These tasks will include any task the project engineers would need to do themselves.

This is a full-time position based out of Dublin, OH. This will be an in-person position. Travel requirements could be up to 20% of position time.

Core Responsibilities

The engineering co-op/intern will assist project engineers on the development of engineering deliverables such as drawings, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and any other task necessary for the project engineers to complete their work. Areas of development that will be expected from the co-op/intern include but not limited to:

  • Learn to visualize engineering systems from paper to real life.
  • Perform effectively as a member of an engineering team
  • Learn project organization
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals to achieve project objectives.
  • Travel to client sites for meetings, gathering field data, and supporting installation when needed.
  • Learn and assist with the development of engineering design packages including.
  • Process flow diagrams (PFD’s)
  • Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s)
  • Equipment Layouts
  • Piping plans
  • 3D Models
  • Equipment lists and specifications for vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, control valves, and other process equipment.
  • Process instrumentation.
  • Hydraulic calculations, modeling, and analysis.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • You must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • A functional understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Salas O’Brien Code of Conduct and Salas O’Brien or Client safety programs.
  • Ability to travel to client sites when needed, both local and across the country
  • Preferred experience:
    • Previous engineering internship / co-op experience (field or office).
    • A working knowledge of AutoCAD.
