Join our dynamic transportation team and advance your career as a Senior Transportation CAD Technician where your technical expertise will drive project success. You'll provide essential drafting expertise across diverse transportation and civil projects while working directly with project engineers to develop high-quality construction drawings. You'll prepare detailed layouts, refine engineering designs, and contribute to infrastructure projects that serve communities across multiple regions. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your technical expertise while collaborating with senior designers and engineers in a team-oriented environment that values precision, reliability, and professional growth.

What You'll Do

  • Provide CAD drafting support for various project sizes and multiple clients across regions
  • Prepare and label preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and other source documents
  • Work directly with project engineers to develop construction drawings for transportation projects
  • Produce accurate and complete technical drawings that meet project specifications and quality standards
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
  • Coordinate with engineers and designers to resolve technical questions and design issues
  • Assist in training junior-level CAD technicians on MicroStation/OpenRoads, plan production, and best practices
  • Utilize CADD software efficiently to produce construction plans, details, and specifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational school, associate degree, or certificate in CAD technology, drafting, civil engineering technology, or related field, preferred
  • 5+ years of related CAD experience in civil or transportation projects
  • Full understanding of technical drawings from engineering sketches and notes
  • Experience in plan development for public agencies, counties and/or municipalities
  • Proficiency in MS Office required; experience in Microstation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D required
  • Experience in plan development for public agencies, counties and/or municipalities
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
