Job description

The Health Insurance Navigator will work to provide healthcare coverage opportunities for Southeast clients and other community residents who lack access to healthcare and health insurance, provide enrollment and application assistance and build/strengthen enrollment collaborations with local partner organizations. The Navigator will assist with the implementation of a variety of outreach and in-reach enrollment activities to identify underserved population segments and aid with accessing healthcare coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist uninsured children and adults with enrolling in Ohio Health Insurance Exchange, Medicaid, and Medicare, including completing applications, gathering documentation, and troubleshooting enrollment issues.

  • Provide education and guidance to clients about healthcare coverage options, eligibility, and benefits.

  • Support clients with renewals, follow-up, and maintaining coverage.

  • Build and strengthen partnerships with local organizations to improve outreach and enrollment.

  • Participate in outreach and in-reach activities to identify underserved or hard-to-reach populations.

  • Distribute health insurance materials and resources to clients, community members, and partner organizations.

  • Attend community events to raise awareness of coverage options and encourage enrollment.

  • Track client interactions and maintain accurate records for reporting and program evaluation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, communications or related program or equivalent experience working with high needs populations
  • Knowledge of healthcare settings; health insurance programs and public coverage options
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of current insurance coverage
