About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Director to support Business Credit Card. This role is responsible for end-to-end leadership and execution of all risk management, regulatory, governance, and business excellence programs for the Business Credit Card portfolio. The position serves as a key partner to Product, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Corporate Risk, ensuring the business operates in a safe, sound, and regulator-ready manner while enabling growth and innovation. This is a high-visibility leadership position with significant influence on business strategy, risk posture, and operational excellence.

In this role, you will:

Risk Management & Controls

  • Own and oversee the risk and control framework for the Business Credit Card business, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk standards.
  • Identify, assess, and manage operational, compliance, reputational, and strategic risks across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead risk assessments, issue management, and remediation plans; ensure timely closure of audit, regulatory, and risk findings.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for risk-related matters impacting the business.

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Manage regulatory engagement and preparedness including examinations, inquiries, and ongoing supervisory activities related to the business credit card portfolio.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Risk to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into business-ready actions.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and controls meet applicable laws and regulations (e.g., UDAAP, payments, credit, servicing, and data governance obligations).

Governance & Reporting

  • Lead governance routines for the business, including risk committees, change management forums, and executive readouts.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality management reporting, KPIs, KRIs, scorecards, and issue tracking to support senior leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure strong documentation, evidence, and controls to support audits, exams, and internal reviews.

Business Excellence & Execution

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness, control maturity, and execution discipline.
  • Establish and maintain strong change management, process management, and control self-assessment practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Product and Business leaders, balancing risk stewardship with business enablement.

Leadership & Influence

  • Provide leadership across crossfunctional teams without direct authority, influencing outcomes across Product, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Risk.
  • Mentor and develop team members and partners on risk, governance, and execution best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

  • Experience in risk management, business execution, governance, compliance, or regulatory affairs, preferably within financial services or payments/cards.

  • Strong knowledge of credit card or payments businesses, including regulatory and operational risk considerations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting business credit card or business banking products.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to synthesize complex regulatory and risk topics into clear, actionable guidance for business leaders.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Experience building or maturing risk and governance programs in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing dashboards, scorecards, and executive materials.

Candidate must be willing to work onsite from one of the stated locations listed in the job posting on a hybrid schedule.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
