CTL Engineering is hiring Assistant Project Managers for Construction Services (water treatment/water delivery/wastewater projects).

  • Construction Management or Civil Engineering degrees and experienced Field Engineers are encouraged to apply!
  • This role will be based out of the New Albany office in northeast Columbus with the water/wastewater-related projects in/around the central Ohio region up to Cleveland (@2 hr radius from the office).
  • This role will focus on:
    • project management,
    • field work/inspection,
    • construction management and administration,
    • client-facing, and
    • technical overview (there is little to no design in this role)

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks such as research, testing, problem solution, construction management/administration of W/WW projects.
  • Participate in field visits and inspections as required.
  • Serve as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct and document field observations for construction activities performed by the contractor(s) for water treatment and water delivery construction projects.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.
  • Ensure construction work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes and best construction practices while adhering to schedule/timeline and budget aspects.
  • Identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
  • Communicate deficiencies to management/proper personnel.
  • Communicate and coordinate with construction contractors, municipal and private property owners in a cooperative, productive manner to overcome challenges while serving the best interest of the client.
  • Monitor the progress of construction activities and provide guidance to contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Discuss plans, specifications and work schedules with Project Manager and Engineers, contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies, etc.
  • Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to the client.
  • Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
  • Communicate and enforce construction quality standards.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Review contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist in the resolution of construction-related disputes or claims.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s or graduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Targeting 3+ years of applicable/related experience.
  • Previous W/WW construction inspection/project experience is preferred but not required.
  • In-depth understanding of construction principles and concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Ability to make and read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • A valid Driverโ€™s License with an acceptable driving record.
