Sedalia Dental is seeking a highly capable and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our full-time team. The ideal candidate will perform expanded clinical duties including placing restorations and assisting with advanced procedures, all while maintaining exceptional patient care and efficient office operations. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Job Description

Perform EFDA clinical duties such as placing and contouring restorations, applying sealants, taking impressions, and fabricating temporary crowns, adhering to state regulations.
Assist dentists with patient exams, restorative treatments, and other procedures while ensuring patient comfort and understanding.
Sterilize and prepare dental instruments and treatment rooms efficiently, maintaining strict compliance with infection control protocols.
Manage patient records, accurately document treatment details, and assist with patient scheduling to ensure seamless office flow.
Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Oversee and track lab cases, managing timely submission and receipt of restorations and dental appliances.
Maintain and ensure proper functioning of dental office equipment and technology, including CAD software and digital imaging systems.
Multitask effectively to support a smooth patient experience and staff workflow in a busy dental environment.
Exhibit punctuality, reliability, and professionalism at all times.
Continuously seek feedback and professional development opportunities to expand skills and knowledge.

Salary Range

Full-time $35 - $40 per hour

Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, dental coding, patient records management, and infection control standards
Excellent communication skills and a patient-friendly demeanor
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Office 365 preferred)
Ability to multitask and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferences

Experience with medical coding related to dental procedures
Familiarity with digital dental imaging and radiology equipment
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Desire to grow within a patient-focused and technologically advanced dental practice
