Construction Superintendent - Columbus, OH

Salary Range: $83,000 - $132,000

Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits

Seeking a leadership-oriented Construction Superintendent to join a premier civil engineering firm in Columbus, Ohio. This is more than a field role; it is a path to company ownership via our ESOP program. The ideal candidate will lead project staff and subcontractors, ensuring high-spec engineering projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Create 3-week "look ahead" schedules, verify work progress, and manage project close-outs/punch lists.
  • Plan construction methods, equipment needs, and staffing levels; coordinate daily with Project Managers and Field Ops.
  • Maintain precise daily job reports and provide data for cost/schedule forecasting.

Quality and Safety:

  • Lead safety incentive programs, perform weekly inspections, and conduct "Toolbox Talks "
  • Ensure all methods and products meet or exceed project specifications and engineering drawings.

People and Compliance:

  • Train and develop junior project staff and promote a professional development culture.
  • Actively ensure minority participation (DBE) goals are met on all assigned projects.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the owner's representatives and the field crews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civil or commercial construction.
  • Proficiency in HCSS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proven ability to read construction documents and manage large, diverse labor groups.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours (overnight/weekends) as project milestones require.
