Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Tech (TRAVEL) in New Albany, OH. The Data Center Technician will support physical and ISP infrastructure by managing the installation and maintenance of hardware and fiber optic systems. This role focuses on rack and stack procedures and troubleshooting fiber connectivity to ensure peak performance within a hyperscale environment. The ideal candidate possesses at least three years of data center experience and is prepared to work a demanding 60-hour night shift schedule.

Pay: $24 to $30 Per Hour BOE
Responsibilities:
- Support and complete all scheduled data center Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) for ISP infrastructure.
- Perform hardware installation, including rack and stack of servers, network devices, and patch panels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic connectivity issues, signal loss, and cable damage.
- Conduct fiber cabling installation, termination, labeling, and routing according to project standards.
- Provide smart-hands assistance and troubleshooting for hardware and cabling break-fix work orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of asset management, daily work logs, and ticket tracking.
- Perform physical inspections of data center health, focusing on power, cooling, and environmental hazards.
- Maintain site security protocols and follow strict data protection procedures during the night shift.
- Coordinate equipment receiving and provide vendor or security escorts as required.
- Ensure all cabling and hardware installations meet industry codes and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience working in a data center environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in rack and stack procedures and ISP infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and certifying fiber optic cabling.
- Ability to work a consistent night shift schedule from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
- Availability to work 60 hours per week for the duration of the contract.
- Familiarity with server and network hardware components and copper infrastructure.
- Must be able to work independently in a high-productivity environment.
- Proficiency with technical documentation and Microsoft Office tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts and 60-hour work weeks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move equipment up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces.
- Must be able to see and distinguish different colors for cable and fiber identification.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to read small print and hear audible signals and alarms.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $24 to $30 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
