Job description

Position summary
The Business Analyst (BA) for the Data & AI team will play a critical role in bridging
business needs and technical execution across data, analytics, and AI initiatives. This
role involves gathering and refining requirements, mapping business workflows,
identifying automation opportunities, enabling data-driven decision-making, and
supporting delivery teams through clear documentation and alignment with
stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Functional Analysis
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand goals, challenges, data,
and workflow optimization needs related to analytics and AI initiatives.
• Translate business objectives into detailed functional and non-functional
requirements.
• Document current-state and future-state business processes, identifying gaps
and opportunities for automation or AI-driven optimization.
• Support data governance and data quality initiatives by defining business rules
and validation logic.
Data & Analytics Support
• Partner with data engineers, and analysts to define data requirements and
ensure availability of high-quality datasets for AI and analytics use cases.
• Define KPIs, metrics, and success measures for analytics and AI solutions.
• Support data & model validation and testing processes by aligning technical
outputs with business expectations.
• Assist in the development of data mapping, dashboards, reports, and
visualizations for business insights.
Project Execution & Delivery
• Maintain clear documentation - including requirements, user stories,
acceptance criteria, data dictionaries, and workflow diagrams.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and technical leads to prioritizing
work and managing delivery timelines.
• Support PoCs and pilots for new AI and data capabilities, including workflow
documentation and impact assessment.
• Facilitate meetings, stand-ups, and stakeholder reviews to ensure clarity and
alignment.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify process improvement opportunities enabled by data or AI technologies.
• Support change management and communication for new data/AI solutions
across business units.
• Stay curious and current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics,
AI, and automation.
Required Skills:
• Strong analytical & critical thinking skills, with the ability to clearly articulate
problems and support designing scalable solutions for complex business
needs.
• Willingness to learn new things and adapt quickly to a team and enterprise
undergoing positive transformation and growth
• Ability to foster a sense of purpose among the team and create a culture of
transparency with clear accountabilities and metrics
• Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation and a high-agency

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work
across teams and with business stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or
related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within data, analytics,
or AI-driven initiatives.
• Strong understanding of data platforms, ETL/data pipelines, data warehousing,
AI and BI tools.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and business teams.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), and data & AI
governance practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management
skills.
• Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Tableau, Snowflake, Collibra, and
SQL (for data validation preferred).
• Prior insurance industry experience is a plus
