JOB TITLE: Conversion Technician I
REPORTS TO: Conversion Foreman
DEPARTMENT: Conversion
LOCATION: Columbus, Ohio
PAY/WAGE TYPE: Hourly| Non-Exempt - $18.00 USD
WORK HOURS: Sunday - Thursday, Midnight to 8 am
Job Summary
The Conversion Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for safely operating conversion equipment and supporting production activities in accordance with established procedures. This position focuses on learning conversion processes, equipment operation, and quality requirements while contributing to daily production goals.
This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality-reflecting Plaskolite's core values of Integrity and Improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate conversion equipment under direct guidance and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, startups, and shutdowns
  • Monitor basic process parameters and report abnormalities to the Conversion Lead or Foreman
  • Perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials
  • Conduct visual quality checks and identify obvious defects
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas
  • Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout, PPE usage, and safe work practices
  • Support team members as needed to meet production schedules
  • Participate in training and skill development activities
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required
  • Willingness and ability to learn conversion processes and equipment
  • Basic math skills required
  • Forklift experience preferred or willingness to become certified
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
