Basic Functions and Scope of Job:

The purpose of the Electrical Assembler is to safely and efficiently assemble, work with, troubleshoot, and interconnect electrical components, electrical wiring, wiring components, and electrical circuits while using wiring diagrams, electrical knowledge, and available resources.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


· Produce quality products in a timely fashion as instructed from shop order packets, drawings, and verbal instructions

· Properly document work and job time using process as specified by appropriate lead person

· Notify supervisor of any material, tool, or equipment malfunctions or issues, missing or defective parts, or of any unsafe conditions

· Wire and configure electrical control panels per job order

· Perform testing of completed panels

· Troubleshoot malfunctions and take any corrective actions

· Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

This role is pivotal in supporting production efforts. The individual in this position must have a high degree of integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in working with colleagues and clients. Relationship building, customer service, and the ability to follow up in a timely manner are critical for success. The ideal candidate will have relative experience, excellent communication and time management skills, and manufacturing aptitude.


· Minimum of two (2) years of electrical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, is required

· Minimum education of a high school diploma or its equivalent; vocational (or higher) education in electrical or a related field and/or journeyman license preferred; a combination of education and experience can be considered

· Understanding of the manufacturing industry is essential

· Must be proficient in reading blue prints

· Must have a working knowledge of programmable controllers and wiring control panels, motors, transformers, and relays

· Must have experience and be proficient in reading and working from bills of materials, layouts, sketches, and schematics and wiring diagrams

· Must have experience making up wire harnesses, communication cables, power distribution cables, and then splicing pieces as required

· Must be able to perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operations of electrical equipment
