Entry-Level Low Voltage Installer

Contel Inc.

Position Overview

Contel Inc. is seeking motivated, dependable individuals to join our growing team as Entry-Level Low Voltage Installers. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, traveling to job sites, and building critical infrastructure in some of the nation's most advanced data centers, telecommunications facilities, and commercial buildings.

No prior experience is required. We provide paid training for individuals with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install wire mesh cable basket tray systems.
  • Install fiber raceway (fiber duct) systems.
  • Install equipment cabinets and server racks.
  • Install and support low-voltage cable infrastructure.
  • Route, secure, and dress copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Assemble hardware and mounting systems.
  • Read basic installation drawings and follow project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work safely while using ladders, lifts, and hand tools.
  • Assist experienced technicians with project installations.
  • Travel to customer job sites throughout the United States. Must be willing to Travel for up to 3 weeks at a time.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to the office or designated meeting location.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Construction or mechanical experience.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Experience working in commercial construction or data centers.
  • Familiarity with cable tray, fiber optic systems, or telecommunications infrastructure.

Travel Requirements

  • Frequent travel throughout the United States.
  • Typical travel assignments range from one to three weeks.
  • Company-paid airfare, hotels, rental vehicles, and daily per diem while traveling.
  • Overtime opportunities available on many projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Work in active construction and data center environments.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and installation equipment.
