Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. In this critical role, you will provide specialized, high-quality care for patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures, including open-heart surgery, TAVR, LVAD implantation, and cardiac catheterizations. Your expertise will ensure optimal patient outcomes through diligent monitoring, assessment, and timely interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive post-operative care to cardiac patients, managing complex hemodynamic parameters.
  • Monitor vital signs and cardiac function using advanced tools such as arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and continuous telemetry.
  • Administer and titrate vasoactive medications to stabilize patient hemodynamics.
  • Recognize and respond swiftly to life-threatening arrhythmias, low cardiac output states, and bleeding complications.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams—including surgeons, perfusionists, and ancillary staff—to ensure seamless care transitions from the operating room to ICU and from ICU to step-down units.
  • Document patient care accurately and ensure thorough handoff communication during shift changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU or cardiovascular critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • Valid and compact Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is a plus.
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
