Job description

Outpatient RN - Infusion

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patients involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

The Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required:

  • 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio licensure or interim permit. Previous surgical center experience preferred.

Provided specialized nursing care in an ambulatory infusion setting for patients receiving non-oncology treatments, including biologics, IV hydration, antibiotics, blood products, and specialty infusions. Conducted patient assessments, administered medications, monitored for adverse reactions, provided patient education, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
