Action Group, based in Columbus, Ohio, is a leading provider of steel-fabricated solutions for the data center industry. We are currently seeking a Welder to support our growing manufacturing operations.

Position Overview:

The Welder welds various metal components together using MIG, TIG, RESISTANCE welding or brazing equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Competency in Use of measuring devices such as steel tape measure, calipers, and weld gauges.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Places tools back into their proper storage areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welds various metal parts together using MIG, TIG, RESISTANCE welding or brazing and any combination of welding processes.
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts. Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products per print preparatory to welding.
  • Studies and analyzes processes for continuous improvement and recommends potential solutions.
  • Complete other job duties as assigned.
