Agency Overview: The Review Commission ("the Commission") is composed of three members appointed by the Governor and a team of attorney hearing officers and administrative support staff. The Commission is independent of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) for purposes of delivering timely and fair hearings on unemployment insurance matters. The Commission conducts fair due process hearings on ODJFS unemployment insurance decisions appealed by claimant and employers. After a review of the facts, the Commission may affirm, reverse, remand, or modify ODJFS decisions. The Commission holds "de novo" or full hearings on appeal, offering customers a new review of disputed unemployment insurance issues in a fair and efficient manner. What You Will Do As a Administrative Professional 2, your job duties will include: Assist Program Administrator 2 with daily administrative office functions, makes recommendations regarding "the Commission" program activities and assists in developing new procedures related to "the Commission" established policy, assists with routine administrative duties to include processing commission lower/higher appeals Prepares statistical data (e.g., number of appeals, document; works on special projects as directed; assists & provides administrative support for the Commission level docketing process (e.g., ensures all higher authority appeals are timely processed; dockets, reviews, & provides summaries of Commission votes; prepares monthly allow/disallow reports for the public meeting agenda) Acts as proxy to confirm & input the votes in the appeals system; acts as backup for the court appeals process (e.g., requesting transcripts; compiling the record; collaborates with Attorney General's Office to file the appellate record) Assists & provides administrative support for the hearing officer attorney team, including but not limited to maintaining hearing schedules, compiling hearing preparation documents, assisting with the Phantom Docket Process, & tracking assistance provided. Responds to inquiries/requests for electronic copies of hearings &/or "the Commission" files Print & prepare hard copy of hearings &/or "the Commission" files to be sent to requesting party if requested Redacts confidential information from the electronic file before preparing the file to be sent out Prepares & releases electronic dictation of the hearing for appeals filed in common pleas court on CD Corresponds via email or letter to interested parties on their request for information. Receives & monitors all incoming physical &/or electronic mail (i.e., USPS, & internal), scanned documents, & faxes Looks up case information & scans/sends to appropriate department within "the Commission", &/or attaches to case file Determines what type of document has been received & where it needs to be sent for further action Attaches pertinent documentation to "the Commission" file in appropriate location within the electronic file. Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., customer service/hearing line backup; customer service daily administrative functions to include backup with overpayments, subpoenas, dismissals, withdrawals, & vacates). Schedule: Part-Time. The Commission's expectation is that the employee work 39 hours a week. Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Qualifications The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following: OPTION 1 Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college. OPTION 2 18 months experience or 18 months training. in secretarial/administrative professional field. OPTION 3 6 months experience as Administrative Professional 1, 16871. OPTION 4 The equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
