The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is searching for board-eligible or board-certified physicians in psychiatry to work part-time or full-time in "outpatient" settings and/or residential treatment units in various correctional facilities across Ohio. Our robust behavioral health advanced practice provider leadership team includes a state psychiatry director, assistant state psychiatry director, and state advanced practice nurse supervisor.     Job Description

    What You'll Do:

    • Work collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system
    • Conduct exams and write evaluations and reports
    • Order and interpret diagnostic testing
    • Manage medication
    • Make referrals for specialized care or treatment
    • Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice; ODRC policies, procedures, protocols; and related ACA standards
    • Participate in continuous quality improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews
    • Provide or share responsibilities of institutional 24-hour on-call as needed (provision of on-call services are included as part of the normal job duties and do not garner extra compensation)
    • Engage in collaborative agreements, as needed

    Qualifications

    Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
