Role Description The Commissary Kitchen Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH, responsible for overseeing daily production of baked goods and food items for all Fox in the Snow Cafe locations. This role manages kitchen staff, coordinates production schedules, and ensures consistent quality, portioning, and presentation of all products. The manager monitors inventory, orders ingredients and supplies, and enforces food safety and sanitation standards. Daily tasks include supervising food preparation and cooking, checking products for quality, organizing storage and deliveries, and communicating with cafe managers to meet demand. The role also involves training team members, maintaining equipment, improving kitchen processes, and supporting a positive, efficient work environment.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in food preparation and cooking, with experience in a commercial or commissary kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage operations, including inventory management and coordination with multiple service locations.
  • Ability to maintain high food quality standards, including consistency, safety, and presentation.
  • Culinary management skills, such as staff supervision, scheduling, workflow optimization, and training.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation regulations, and proper equipment use and maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to meet production timelines and adapt to changing demands.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with kitchen and cafe leadership.
  • Previous experience in bakery or cafe production management preferred; formal culinary training is a plus.
