Job description

Helps to support the Portfolio Management team by performing portfolio monitoring tasks and reporting to ensure the portfolio is well-managed and compliant. Manages an assigned portfolio of Corporate Banking clients as determined by Portfolio Manager Team Lead. Communicates with relationship team and credit department regarding details of portfolio performance and credit metrics. Ensures credit quality standards are executed and maintained within assigned portfolio.  

Essential Job Responsibilities__________________________________

1. Tracks ongoing performance of loan portfolio clients. 

2. Assists with financial statement, covenant and collateral analysis for Corporate Banking clients.  Assess liquidity, leverage and debt service capacity.

3. In collaboration with Relationship Manager(s), manages an assigned portfolio of relationships.  Portfolio size and complexity may vary based on length of service and management decisions.

4. Assists with the preparation of Annual reviews, Interim reviews, Covenant testing, Renewals and Modifications.

5. Monitors client financial performance versus plan objectives and financial covenant compliance on a regular basis; discusses the performance with Portfolio Manager Team Lead and relationship team. 

6. Actively manages renewals and extensions of maturing notes and expiring commitments. 

7. Monitors delinquencies within assigned portfolio. Identifies and escalates early warning signals of credit deterioration.

8. Reviews trend reports generated based on assigned portfolio with ability to address and communicate on both positive and negative trends. 

9. Maintains awareness and advises the Relationship Manager and/or Credit Team in regards to alerts on critical items and awareness of key issues.

10. Assists with the preparation of loan modification requests, Criticized Asset Committee reports, Watch Review reports, Semi-Annual Line Sheets and any other required reports, on an as–needed basis.

11. Ensures portfolio meets internal policy and regulatory expectations.

12. Ability to assess and discuss risk ratings with the Credit Department.

13. Works with Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers to gather borrower information on a timely basis including financial statements to assess borrower risk.

14. Ensures a seamless process for portfolio management by fostering strong communication by team members, including Credit, Credit Review and Loan Documentation departments. 

15. Provides portfolio information on a timely basis to be included as part of credit analysis and/or performance reports. Develop a continuous improvement mindset with respect to credit performance reports, cross sell effectiveness, and opportunities to improve processes.

16. Develops knowledge of the procedures for compliance including a broad understanding of regulations.

17. Maintains a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________

1. A bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.  

2. Three (3) to Five (5) years of credit analysis experience. Understanding of financial statement analysis. Ability to spread financials and prepare cash flows and credit memos. Strong Excel and analytical skills.

3. Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence others, as well as strong computer and analytical skills are necessary. 

4. A valid driver’s license and travel, including some overnight stays, are required.
