What We Look For In a Vietnamese Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Vietnamese tonal system with six tones, Vietnamese alphabet, grammar structures including classifier usage, sentence patterns, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and cultural context. Emphasizes listening comprehension development and connects Vietnamese language to cultural traditions, family values, and contemporary Vietnamese society.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Vietnamese language curricula and common challenges such as mastering six-tone pronunciation, understanding classifier usage, and adjusting to topic-prominent sentence structure. Adapts instruction using tone drills, authentic Vietnamese media, and conversational practice to support heritage speakers refining literacy skills and non-heritage learners building proficiency from beginning levels.
