Job description

Who We Are:
Since 1963, A&H Equipment Co. has been the leading provider of municipal, truck and environmental solutions in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and now in Ohio.
Job Summary:
A&H is seeking a Service Technician that is responsible for repairing customers' equipment and has general product and equipment knowledge, strong mechanical skills with the ability to maintain a safe and clean environment. This position will directly report to the Service Manager and will need to maintain a professional work ethic with customers and A&H Team.
The standard shift for this role is 7:00 AM-3:30 PM with overtime available.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot standard mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Install parts and add-on equipment as per install specifications
  • Demonstrate knowledge of functionality and operations of equipment
  • Perform safety inspections on equipment
  • Operate a forklift with necessary certification
  • Weld and fabricate as needed within the shop to support service operations
  • Assist department with various customer related issues including incoming calls, quotes, status of open jobs updates and more
  • Maintain excellent level of customer service
  • Consistently follow all A&H Equipment safety guidelines
  • Complete necessary paperwork as required for contracts, clients and company standard operating procedures
  • CBT training certification- willingness to complete all needed manufacturer training

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; vo-tech or vocational school education encouraged to apply
  • 1+ year of experience in a service technician role preferred but not required
  • Driver's license required as driving for company purposes may be required from time to time
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • General knowledge and experience with computer systems required; experience working with a service system preferred.
  • Possession of Class B CDL highly preferred; interest in obtaining Class B CDL is also preferred if license is not held currently
Working Environment and Physical Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs independently at waist height and above the head.
  • Exerting significant force to align tracks, moving heavy tool chests, or position components.
  • Frequently ascending and descending ladders or using the machine's tracks and grabbing handles to reach engine compartments.
  • Extensive time spent crawling, kneeling, or squatting to access the undercarriage.
  • Reaching and working with arms above shoulder level for extended periods.
  • Maintaining a firm grip on heavy hand tools and power equipment.
  • The ability to manipulate small fasteners, electrical connectors, and delicate diagnostic tools in tight, greasy spaces.
  • Technicians typically spend 8 hours per day on their feet, often on hard concrete surfaces.
  • Maintaining mental alertness and physical steadiness while troubleshooting complex hydraulic or electrical systems throughout a full shift.
  • Employees may regularly be asked and expected to work overtime.
