Job Title:Clinical Research Assistant (HS)- NeurologyDepartment:Medicine | Neurology

Clinical Research Assistant participates in the data collection, maintenance, and reporting, and/or patient interfacing activities for clinical and translational research studies within the Department of Neurology Division of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) with partnership to the College of Medicine (COM) Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM).

This role involves assisting with clinical research studies in accordance with approved protocols, Key patient-facing duties include assessing patient records to identify eligible participants, recruiting, interviewing, and enrolling patients, obtaining informed consent, and educating participants on the study process. CRA coordinates patient appointments and procedures, administers standardized diagnostic, psychological, or behavioral testing and calculates scoring, and may collect, process, and evaluate biological samples. Administrative and support tasks include assisting with the collection, entry, and maintenance of clinical research data into study databases, preparing documentation for research progress reports, completing Institutional Review Board (IRB) and sponsor study documents, and assisting with the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience required.

Experience Required

No relevant experience required.

Experience Preferred

2-4 years of relevant experience preferred working in a research capacity. Knowledge of cognitive disorders may be desired.

Preferred Skills

Skills in phlebotomy may be desired; performing basic laboratory procedures to process biological specimens is desired; computer skill required with knowledge of database software applications desired.

Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

Additional Information:

This position may require travel to other outpatient locations affiliated with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Locations may include Outpatient Care East, Dublin, New Albany, Powell, and Upper Arlington; East Hospital; the Clinical Research Center on Main Campus.

This is a patient facing position and requires working on site.
