The higher education fundraising landscape has transformed throughout the past decade and we recognize efforts to successfully engage alumni must evolve.The partnership will introduce a new Engagement Center to identify alumni's interests,toproduce and deliver relevant and engaging content, and to cultivate meaningful relationships with Ohio State alumni.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager of the Engagement Center, the Senior Engagement Center Specialist helps support the operations, development, culture and strategy of the Engagement Center team. This position will work closely with the Student Manager to ensure project execution, technology and day-to-day responsibilities are operating at max capacity for the entire team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the onboarding and training of specialists and students.
  • Assist with strategy development for various campaigns and outreach efforts.
  • Assist with weekly training and development opportunities for specialists and students.
  • Assess technology and software processes to ensure we are providing the best overall experience.
  • Enhance operational and strategic components of engagement center specialist daily tasks.
    • Analyze Engagement Center metrics on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis.
    • Provide consistent maintenance to keep talking points and impact language fresh and relevant.
    • Assist with strategy for continuum movement through portfolio.
    • Assist with monitoring and curating multi-channel communications and content.
    • Audit and provide quality assurance for email and web chat operations.
    • Audit event registration operations and provide quality assurance for event-related processes.
  • Promote positive team culture across student and full-time team.
    • Serve as team lead for contests, team-building activities and performance management
    • Assist with coordination of team outings, activities and training sessions
    • Facilitate connections between full-time and student team
  • Continue to manage responsibilities associated with specialist position.
    • Understand and implement strategic engagement opportunities through proactive and reactive outreach via calls, email, text, web chat, video and social to alumni, family and friends to connect them back to The Ohio State University.
    • Work closely with the Engagement Center Managerto execute strategy and provide comprehensive support for broad-based fundraising, including annual solicitations and special projects for all fundraising.
    • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the philanthropic priorities to effectively present a case for support.
    • Take timely and strategic steps in moving prospects through the gift cycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
    • Assist and/or lead in short- and long-range strategic planning activities to create and implement fundraising goals and objectives.
    • Make effective use of the university's prospect management database and other institutional resources to ensure appropriate management of donors, prospects, alumni and volunteers in coordination with university objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university
  • 1-2 years fundraising or sales experience preferred
  • Previous sales experience identifying, cultivating and soliciting customers is preferred
  • A passion for the power and impact of fundraising specific to university alumni giving
  • Self-motivated and ability to work as a team member in a complex organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic paired with outstanding time management, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to listen, identify, and resolve issues
  • Optimistic team-first attitude and a competitive desire to be the best
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Resourceful, innovative and forward thinking
