Schedule: 2nd Shift - Wednesday - Sunday (weekends required)

Sign On Bonus: $1500

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring products consistently meet Transcendia's quality standards through laboratory testing, inspection, documentation, and verification of raw materials and finished goods. This position supports manufacturing operations by performing quality control testing, maintaining calibration programs, documenting inspection results, and assisting with compliance to applicable quality management systems and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and SQF. The Quality Technician partners closely with production, engineering, and quality personnel to identify quality concerns, support corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing and inspections on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to verify compliance with quality specifications and customer requirements. 
  • Review, verify, and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and other quality documentation to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements. 
  • Record inspection and test results accurately within quality systems and ERP software, ensuring complete documentation, traceability, and data integrity. 
  • Generate customer Certificates of Analysis and other quality documentation as required. 
  • Maintain and execute the equipment calibration program, coordinating internal and third-party calibrations to ensure measurement accuracy. 
  • Collect, organize, label, and maintain retained samples in accordance with established quality procedures. 
  • Identify nonconforming materials or processes, document findings, and communicate quality concerns to the Quality Control Manager while assisting with investigations and corrective actions. 
  • Conduct layered process audits, internal quality audits, and routine inspections to verify compliance with quality management systems, company procedures, and regulatory standards. 
  • Compile, analyze, and report quality data, trends, and performance metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Participate in root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities. 
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Operations, and other functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes. 
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, housekeeping (5S), and company policies. 
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications: 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and laboratory testing procedures. 
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection instruments. 
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and applicable standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and SQF. 
  • Experience working with ERP systems and quality management software; experience with Movex is preferred. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret specifications, identify trends, and recommend solutions. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. 
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a cross-functional team.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to materials manufacturing or related industries.
  • Knowledge of automated inspection systems or advanced quality control technologies.

 Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Associate degree in Quality, Applied Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. 
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and arms. 
  • Ability to work in both laboratory and manufacturing environments with exposure to machinery, chemicals, moderate noise levels, and other typical manufacturing conditions while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Ability to safely perform job duties in accordance with all company safety policies and procedures.
