    Key Functions:

    Strategic Partnership & Influence
    Work in close partnership with the Grande Prairie site leadership team and collaborate with regional and functional partners as needed to support silviculture strategy and execution that supports safety, environmental performance, financial results, and long‑term fibre supply.

    Program Ownership & Accountability
    Own assigned silviculture programs from planning through execution, with clear accountability for cost control, regulatory compliance, operational effectiveness, contractor performance, and long‑term forest productivity.

    Data‑Driven Silviculture Leadership
    Lead the continued evolution toward a disciplined, data‑driven silviculture system by ensuring high‑quality data management, interpreting performance trends, and using silviculture data to inform decisions, improve practices, and drive continuous improvement.

    Contractor & Team Leadership
    Lead contractors by setting expectations, managing performance, and ensuring safe, consistent execution in a contractor‑heavy operating environment. Serve as a trusted technical and operational resource for internal team members, providing guidance, coaching, and informal mentorship while partnering with leaders on team effectiveness.

    External Relationships & Representation
    Build and maintain strong working relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, researchers, and other stakeholders, representing Weyerhaeuser with credibility, professionalism, and sound professional judgement.

    Qualifications:
    • Leading silviculture programs, with demonstrated accountability across planning, execution, budget, regulatory compliance, and performance outcomes.

    • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forest Technologist, or eligibility for registration in Alberta.

    • Proven experience leading contractors and/or employees, setting expectations, managing performance, and delivering results through others in a contractor‑heavy operating environment.

    • Strong understanding of silviculture data and information systems, including data quality management, performance interpretation, and practical application of data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.

    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, prioritize competing demands, and adapt effectively in a fast‑moving operational setting while maintaining sound professional judgement.

    • Strong communication skills and the credibility to work effectively with site leaders, functional partners, peers, and external stakeholders

    This role offers strong potential for future growth, including the opportunity to progress into a Silviculture Manager position within an approximately 1–2 year timeframe, subject to performance, business needs, and operational requirements. In addition, t his role offers broad ownership, visible impact, and meaningful exposure within a large, complex operation. It is well‑suited for an experienced silviculture professional who wants to deepen their influence, strengthen systems, and grow alongside a high‑performing leadership team.

    What We Offer:

    Compensation : This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $89,859-130,386 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

    Benefits : When you join our team as a nonunion employee, you and your dependents will be offered coverage under our comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. We also support personal volunteerism, sponsor a host of diversity networks, promote mentoring, and provide training and development opportunities to help you chart your path to a fulfilling career.

    Retirement : Nonunion Canadian employees are automatically enrolled in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan, which includes a paid company match up to 6%, in addition to a company contribution equaling up to 7.25% of your base salary. Employees are also eligible to enroll in the Retirement Savings Plan (Group RRSP).
