    Associate Veterinarian

    Location: Xenia, OH (Greater Dayton Area)

    Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

    Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

    Compensation: $100,000-$115,000 per year

    Relocation Assistance: Available

    We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through specially trained service dogs. This is a unique opportunity to practice high-quality veterinary medicine in a low-stress, collaborative environment where your focus can remain on patient care.

    You'll work with an established canine population of approximately 300-400 dogs, primarily retrievers, Labradors, and doodles, supporting their health from puppyhood through placement.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform routine wellness exams and preventive care

    • Administer vaccinations and annual health evaluations

    • Diagnose and treat common medical conditions

    • Evaluate potential breeding dogs and participate in breeding program recommendations

    • Perform routine surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals

    • Perform basic dental procedures as needed

    • Coordinate specialty referrals when appropriate

    • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers

    Qualifications

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college

    • Current Ohio Veterinary License in good standing or ability to obtain licensure

    • Strong knowledge of canine medicine and preventive care

    • Proficiency in routine surgical procedures

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • USDA Accreditation preferred

    • Two or more years of veterinary experience preferred, but not required

    • New graduates are encouraged to apply
