    Job description

    Major Component Exchange Technician 
     
    In this roll you will specialize in major corrective repairs on wind turbines across the U.S., including but not limited to GE, Siemens and Vestas. 
    At HGE we have the highest regard for safety and quality.  We expect each employee to embody that mindset.  As an MCE technician you will work at heights of up to 400 feet while being exposed to the elements, with shift schedules that must be fluid to facilitate safe, successful heavy lifts at height.

    As an MCE technician, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to excellence and driven to make a positive impact in the renewable energy industry. 


    •     Perform repairs and replacements of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components, following proper LOTO, torquing, lift plan wind limit restrictions, rigging and flagging procedures/protocol.  
    •     Complete daily, weekly and monthly inspections of rigging, support equipment and safety gear.  
    •     Clean and organize tools, equipment and work area, both up-tower and down-tower  
    •     Maintain an unmatched level of professionalism when interacting with the customer, property owners, co-workers and other contracted services employees.  
    •     Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults utilizing block diagrams, schematics and electrical test tools.  
    •     Operating a company vehicle safely both onsite and off.  Certain MVR requirements must be met to acquire/maintain a company leased vehicle.    

    •     Complete required documentation and checklists.  
    •     Good verbal and written communication skills.  
    •     Work on a rotational basis with 90% travel.  
    •     Must have a positive attitude and contribute to a team environment.  
    •     Current GWO certification a plus.  
    •     Reports daily to the team Lead and Field Supervisor.  



    Major Component Exchange Technician – Lead  
     
    •     Oversees/directs day to day activities of the MCE team.  
    •     Maintain highest level of communication with customer, site    representatives and HGE management.  
    •     Responsible for maintaining thorough daily reports.  
    •     Train less experienced team members.  
    •     Sets daily schedule.  
    •     Ensures compliance with procedures, safety program and site protocols.  
    •     Reports to Field Supervisor.  


    Major Component Exchange Technician – Field Engineer 
     
    •    In addition to the same Lead responsibilities  
    •    Work with team lead in day-to-day activities, taking a more involved role in team    cohesiveness, communication with Site Managers and Project Managers.    
    •     Recognize training needs in less experienced technicians with focus on the   growth of the team.  
    •     Reports to the Lead Field Supervisor  


    Major Component Exchange Technician – Lead Field Engineer 
    •     Responsible for all aspects of the MCE team’s day-to-day planning and execution.  Communicating any tooling or equipment needed to project managers.  
    •     Coordinating with customer and site managers both before, during and after job execution.  
    •     Ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time and reflects the company’s high standards of quality.  
    •     Scheduling loadouts and unloading of tooling, parts and equipment.  
    •     May be responsible for multiple teams.  Flexibility and the ability to multi-task is a must for the success of our business in this position.    
    •     Recognize, reward and promote employees who consistently go above and beyond.    
    •     Reports to the Project Manager.
