HR Clerk / Onboarding Specialist (Bilingual Spanish)

Position Summary

High Ground Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Clerk / Onboarding Specialist to support daily human resources operations and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new employees. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to handle confidential information professionally. This role is responsible for assisting with employee onboarding, maintaining personnel records, supporting recruiting efforts, and providing administrative HR support.

Key Responsibilities:

Onboarding & Employee Support

  • Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for all new hires
  • Prepare onboarding packets, employment documents, and orientation materials
  • Conduct new hire orientations in both English and Spanish
  • Ensure all required hiring documents are completed accurately and timely
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and company policies
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records

HR Administrative Duties

  • Enter and update employee information in HRIS
  • Verify employment eligibility documentation (I-9s, E-Verify, etc.)
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and communicating with applicants
  • Support payroll and timekeeping processes as needed
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company records

Compliance & Communication

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations
  • Translate HR documents and communications between English and Spanish when necessary
  • Serve as a point of contact for Spanish-speaking employees
  • Assist with safety training coordination and workforce communication

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
  • Previous HR, onboarding, administrative, or clerical experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Experience with HR software or payroll systems is a plus
