Job description

Why LandPro Equipment?
We're proud to be a trusted John Deere dealer serving communities across New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania but what sets us apart is how we show up every day.
Our goal is simple, to be the most respected dealership by living our PRO values: Professionalism, Respect, and Outstanding Service.
At LandPro Equipment, our team members aren't just employees, they're PROs.
A Day in the Life of an Assistant Service Manager
As an Assistant Service Manager, you're the operational heartbeat of the service department. Working alongside the Service Manager, you'll help keep the shop organized, technicians productive, and customers informed every step of the way.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role where you'll spend your day coordinating workflow, supporting technicians, communicating with customers, and making sure repairs move efficiently from check-in to completion. One moment you're assigning work and balancing shop capacity, the next you're reviewing estimates, coordinating with the Parts Team, or helping resolve a customer concern.
You'll be a resource for your team, remove obstacles that slow down the shop, and help create an environment where technicians can do their best work.
Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: keep the shop running smoothly, support your team, and take care of the customer.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Service Manager, you will:
  • manage the daily workflow of the service department by assigning work and balancing technician schedules
  • monitor work orders from intake through completion to help keep repairs on schedule
  • communicate with customers by providing updates, reviewing estimates, obtaining approvals, and setting clear expectations
  • partner with technicians and the Parts team to remove roadblocks and improve shop efficiency
  • review completed repairs and documentation to support quality control before equipment is returned to the customer
  • support the Service Manager with departmental goals, operational improvements, and overall shop performance
  • assist with customer follow-up, service campaigns, and ongoing training opportunities

What You Bring
You'll be a great fit for this Assistant Service Manager role if you:
  • enjoy keeping people, projects, and priorities organized
  • thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day is different
  • communicate confidently with customers and coworkers
  • enjoy solving problems and finding ways to improve efficiency
  • support your team by removing obstacles and helping others succeed
  • lead with professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude

What You Need to be a LandPro Assistant Service Manager:
  • previous experience in a dealership or equipment service environment
  • understanding of service operations, work order processes and repair coordination
  • strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • general understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in ag, turf, construction, or heavy equipment

It's a plus if you have:
  • agricultural, turf, construction, equipment or industry background
  • experience in a working service manager or shop leadership role
  • experience preparing repair estimates and coordinating service operations
  • experience working across service, parts, and sales teams

What We Offer
At LandPro, we invest in helping you grow, not just do a job.
  • $45,000 - $70,000 Annual Salary
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) that grows with you + Paid Holidays
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Short-Term Disability
  • 401K with Company Match + Access to Empeople
  • Access to John Deere University + Earn While You Learn Program
  • Employee Discount on Equipment & Parts
