Job description

JOB TITLE: Director, Global Supply Chain & Procurement
LOCATION: Bolton, ON (5 days onsite)
DURATION: FTE
RATE RANGE: $250,000-$280,000 CAD

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Global Supply Chain & Procurement is responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain performance across a global manufacturing network. The role is accountable for delivering step-change improvements in material, warehousing, and logistics costs, supplier performance, and lead times, while building a resilient, globally optimized supply base.
This leader will play a critical role in rebalancing the global supply footprint, accelerating development of emerging sourcing regions, and enabling execution of multiple concurrent new product introductions. The role requires a results-driven operator who can deliver measurable outcomes under tight timelines and high expectations.
Key manufacturing locations include Bolton, ON (Canada), Luxembourg, Chennai (India), Milton, VT (USA), and Shanghai (China). Key sourcing countries include Canada, USA, India, China and EU.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Cost Leadership & Competitive Sourcing
Drive structural cost reduction across direct material spend through global sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and design-to-cost initiatives. Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost competitiveness across all regions, ensuring alignment with regional market economics. Identify and close cost gaps between regions. Establish disciplined cost management processes, including should-cost modeling, benchmarking, and continuous productivity tracking.
2. Lead Time Reduction & Supply Chain Performance
Deliver meaningful reductions in end-to-end lead times-from supplier order to production availability. Improve material availability, inventory turns, and on-time delivery performance across all manufacturing sites. Establish clear performance management systems with standard metrics and enforce accountability. Lead recovery actions and escalation management for supply disruptions impacting operations.
3. Global Supply Base & Footprint Strategy
Build and execute a global sourcing strategy that reduces risk, improves cost position, and increases flexibility. Accelerate development of emerging supply chain regions to support future growth and competitiveness. Expand sourcing in low-cost manufacturing regions while reducing over-dependence on any single geography. Support establishment of new supply chain capabilities aligned with evolving manufacturing footprint.
4. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
Ensure supply chain readiness to support multiple concurrent product launches. Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to ensure sourcing strategies align with design, cost, and timing targets. Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks during product development and ramp-up phases. Embed supply chain input early in design to drive cost and manufacturability.
5. Supplier Strategy & Performance Management
Develop and manage a high-performing global supplier base capable of meeting cost, quality, and delivery expectations. Lead strategic supplier relationships, including key negotiations, performance reviews, and development plans. Drive supplier accountability through structured performance management and escalation processes. Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, and capability development.
6. Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Commercial teams to align supply chain execution with business priorities. Provide clear visibility on supply chain risks, trade-offs, and performance to senior leadership. Influence decision-making with data-driven insights and fact-based recommendations. Ensure alignment across global manufacturing sites.
7. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead and develop a high-performing global team of supply chain and procurement professionals. Build capabilities in strategic sourcing, supplier development, analytics, and execution discipline. Create a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement. Attract, develop, and retain top talent across regions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

15+ years of leadership experience in global supply chain, procurement, logistics or manufacturing operations within an industrial environment.
Proven track record of delivering material cost reduction and lead time improvement at scale.
Experience managing supply chains across multiple manufacturing regions and global supplier networks.
Demonstrated success in developing supply bases in emerging or low-cost regions.
Strong analytical capability and ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments.
Leadership Profile
Results-driven, strategic and pragmatic, decisive, resilient under pressure, collaborative, and an effective change leader.
Success Measures
Year-over-year direct material cost reduction, measurable lead time reduction, improved on-time delivery and inventory performance, increased sourcing from competitive regions, successful NPI execution, and a strong, high-performing global supplier base.
