Overview SUMMARY: The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for resolving incidents escalating to or originating at the Systems Engineer level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for administration of the Microsoft computing environment to include but not limited to:
* Microsoft Domain Administration
* Active Directory
* domain controllers
* Domain Names Services (DNS)
* Troubleshooting minor network connectivity issues such as network interface card (NIC), cabling, TCP/IP configuration issues
* Basic messaging system administration (e-mail)
* PC and server hardware familiarity including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues using configuration analysis and subsystem (hard drive, memory, monitors, and power supplies) repair/replacement procedures.
* Responding to trouble tickets from the Service Desk automated trouble ticketing system.
* Performing hardware and software System, including patches, upgrades, service packs, and hotfixes to ensure system availability, reliability, and serviceability. * Persons in this position will also be responsible for backup and recovery functions.
