You'll assist with food preparation, meal service, catering, inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages following established menus and recipes.
  • Help ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, served on time, and at the proper temperature.
  • Follow meal plans and special dietary requirements, including portion sizes and nursing protocols.
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, food purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Ensure food and supplies are ready for upcoming meal production, including completing advance preparation.
  • Support catered events and special functions as needed.
  • Provide coverage at other agency kitchen locations when assigned.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment and report equipment concerns or repair needs.
  • Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Keep kitchens, storage areas, and workspaces clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, stocking supplies, and taking out trash.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow food safety and sanitation standards, including maintaining ServSafe certification.
  • Help orient and train new team members when assigned.
  • Work alongside individuals receiving services who may participate in paid or volunteer work experiences.
  • Treat everyone with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Food Service Management preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience preparing food in a commercial, institutional, or high-volume kitchen preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • ServSafe Certification required or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Comfortable using email and basic Microsoft Office applications. Experience with food service or nutrition software is a plus.
  • Able to work a flexible, year-round schedule.
  • Valid driver's license that meets agency driving requirements, with the ability to deliver meals or supplies when needed.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier lifting when necessary.
