Job description

Terracon's Florida Division is seeking an exceptional Client Development Director to lead and advance our Client Development organization across the state.

Serving as a key member of the Florida Division leadership team, this senior leadership role is responsible for developing talent, strengthening client relationships, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. The  Client Development Director will partner with Division leadership to build upon a strong foundation and help position the Florida Division for continued long-term growth and success.

The Client Development Director serves as the senior leader responsible for client development strategy, major pursuit support, business planning, client experience, and growth execution across the Division. This individual will directly supervise, coach, and develop Client Development Managers and Specialist located throughout Florida and will be responsible for performance management, professional development, goal setting, and overall team effectiveness.. It is expected that they will work closely with Operations Managers, Division Managers, Service Line Leaders, Marketing professionals, and technical teams.

The ideal candidate is an engaging and  effective leader, who excels at developing people, building relationships, aligning teams around common goals, and driving results through collaboration, strategic planning, and execution.

  • Required Qualifications
        Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or related field.
        15+ years of progressively responsible business development, client development, sales, marketing, or related experience.
        Demonstrated success leading and developing teams.
        Proven experience leading and developing direct reports in a professional services, sales, business development, or marketing environment.
        Strong executive presence and communication skills.
        Experience developing and executing growth strategies.
        Strong business planning and organizational leadership capabilities.
        Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
        Proficiency with CRM systems and business development reporting tools.
    Ability and willingness to travel throughout Florida approximately 25-35% of the time.

  • Key Leadership Responsibilities
        Serve as a key member of the Florida Division leadership team and contribute to strategic planning, growth initiatives, talent development, and client experience programs.
        Directly supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Client Development Managers and Specialists across the Florida Division, including responsibility for performance management, development planning, hiring, succession planning, and team effectiveness.
        Drive a high-performance culture by establishing clear expectations, monitoring results, and addressing performance gaps through coaching, development, and accountability.
         Establish clear goals, priorities, and development plans that align individual performance with Division objectives.
        Build a culture of excellence focused on collaboration, client service, continuous improvement, and results.
        Support recruiting, onboarding, succession planning, and development of future Client Development talent.
        Collaborate and partner with other Client Development leaders nationally across Terracon.

        Partner with Division leadership to develop and execute growth strategies aligned with Terracon's strategic objectives.
        Identify and prioritize strategic clients, growth opportunities, market sectors, and business initiatives.
        Lead and support major pursuits, strategic account planning, and key client growth initiatives.
        Drive cross-selling and project lifecycle engagement across Environmental, Facilities, Geotechnical, and Materials service lines.
        Support executive-level client engagement activities and strategic relationship development.
        Serve as a champion for client experience excellence throughout the organization.
    Operational Excellence
        Promote best practices in CRM utilization, opportunity management, forecasting, and client engagement.
        Utilize data and performance metrics to improve decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
        Facilitate collaboration between Client Development, Operations, Marketing, and technical teams.
        Help ensure consistent execution of, business planning, business development processes and strategic growth initiatives across the Division.
