This role blends fieldwork and office responsibilities and requires close collaboration with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams. You'll play a key role in delivering sustainable solutions while supporting project performance, safety, and professional growth within the team.Project Management & Delivery: Manage natural resources projects from proposal development through execution, including scopes, schedules, budgets, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Regulatory Coordination & Permitting: Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to evaluate jurisdictional waters, support environmental permitting efforts, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.Field Investigations & Assessments: Conduct and oversee wetland delineations, stream determinations, mitigation support, ecological assessments, and protected species surveys as needed.Team Leadership & Collaboration: Work alongside and mentor technical staff, ensuring safety, quality standards, and operational objectives are met while coordinating with other service lines to support project needs.Client & Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, provide regular project updates, and represent the company in professional and community settings to support business development and visibility.About You: You have a Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences from an accredited college or universityYou have 4+ years of experience with wetland delineations, stream determinations, environmental permitting, mitigation, protected species surveys, and ecological surveys, and previous experience in the southeast U.S.GIS experience and/or knowledge Demonstrated successful team leadership and management at a project level with a good understanding of safety policies/procedures, quality, business metrics, human resources policies/procedures, and risk management conceptsExcellent oral and written communication skills for clients, staff, and regulatory personnelYou Are Willing and Able to:Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditionsWalking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a dayRoutinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sitesGrow With Us:At S&ME, your career growth matters.
