    The Utility Systems & Solutions segment of Electrification and Automation (EA) offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for the Utility and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) markets. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. The product portfolio includes but is not limited to medium voltage switchgear (AIS & GIS), Outdoor Circuit Breakers, MV Control, Power Equipment Centers, Overhead distribution products, low voltage motor control centers, photovoltaic (PV) Inverters, and ancillary MV and LV products that are routinely part of complete electrical packaged solutions in substations, power plants, and renewable energy power generation.     Position Overview:
    The Utility Systems & Solutions business is looking for a Project Manager (PM) to join our Partner Programs and Project management team. As a PM, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. Your focus will be managing switchgear and motor control projects integrated within Power Distribution Centers for utility end users and partners. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver customer success that helps generate more business. Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the Utility Systems & Solutions segment executes a diverse portfolio of projects, and this position will be focused on Large Solutions, including medium-voltage power distribution equipment packaging and services for strategic Utility customers. The PM role comes with ample opportunities for growth, reflective of Siemens mission to empower people with a growth mindset. As a customer facing team, we keep customer satisfaction at the forefront as we manage large projects in a fast-paced environment.
    This position will be based in Wendell, NC. This is a hybrid role.
    You'll make an impact by:
    • Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
    • Responsible for the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s).
    • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
    • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    • Provide regular updates to team, PMO and executive management within Siemens and customers' organization on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status- along with strategy to grow the program.
    • Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
    • Manage customer expectations across all the projects and various internal functions on project cycle and lead single and multi-product medium voltage solutions projects.
    • Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions while controlling nonconformance cost.
    • Collaborate with other PMO teams at the EA, Siemens Industry, and within other segments to ensure consistency and alignment, along with the sharing of best practices to continuously improve program efficiency and customer satisfaction.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
    • 5+ years of relevant experience managing similar portfolios
    • Relevant experience in Power distribution industry either Medium voltage or High voltage.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics
    • PMP certification is required within 1 year of employment
    • 20% Travel required (national and international)

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market
    • Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in Power distribution industry.
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
    • Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within project
    • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers
    • Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customer
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes and develop innovative solutions for execution.
    • Demonstrated ability in contract and change management.
    • PMP certification as a plus

    The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
