Job Overview:
As a Forensic Structural Engineer, you will play a critical role in investigating and analyzing structural failures, accidents, and other incidents related to buildings and structures. You will work closely with our team of engineers, architects, and construction professionals to identify the root cause of these failures and provide recommendations for remediation and prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations of structural failures, accidents, and other incidents related to buildings and structures.
- Analyze and interpret data, including drawings, specifications, and site observations, to determine the cause of the failure.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations for remediation and prevention.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement effective solutions for structural failures.
- Provide expert testimony and support in legal proceedings related to structural failures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to structural engineering.
- Mentor and train junior engineers on forensic investigation techniques and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic structural engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to structural engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
