Job Description:

The Portfolio Development Sr Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the growth of our portfolio companies via strategic engagement with SFV's corporate network. This role will be responsible for growing and leveraging our established Salesforce Ventures Customer Network and Advisors in order to deliver impactful experiences and valuable insights for our portfolio companies.
The Portfolio Development Sr Manager will collaborate cross-functionally within Salesforce Ventures and with the investment team to deliver value to portfolio companies. They will build relationships with portfolio companies, recruit technology executives into SFV's corporate network, build relationships with existing network members, and coordinate strategic workshops and events to further enrich our portfolio's experiences.


Primary Responsibilities:

Grow and Manage Salesforce Ventures' Strategic Corporate Network

  • Grow the network of the Salesforce Ventures' strategic corprate network by identifying and recruiting technology executives (CIOs, CTOs, Heads of AI) from Fortune 500 Companies to collaborate with SFV and work with the portfolio companies to support their growth.

  • Elevate and scale programs to provide feedback and insights from our corporate network back into our investment strategy and portfolio companies.

Salesforce Ventures Investment Team Support

  • Lead and partner with Salesforce Ventures investment team to define and deliver value-add services for portfolio companies and high-priority prospects.

  • Work with our investment, marketing and events teams to refine playbooks, build case studies, and showcase the accomplishments of the team and the portfolio.

  • Bring innovation and a beginner's mind to our operations and the value we bring to our portfolio companies.

Portfolio Company Support

  • Build relationships with new and existing portfolio companies. Understand what the companies do, and maintain an up-to-date view of their personnel, products, & goals.

  • Understand how to best position our portfolio companies across the Salesforce ecosystem. Work with the portfolio companies to define their needs and identify ways we can support them.


Professional Experience / Skills Required:

  • 6-8 years of experience in Ventures Platform, Business Development, or Startup Ecosystem.

  • Superior organizational, relationship-building, and communication skills with the ability to prepare executive-facing materials and work with stakeholders across our portfolio companies

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building alongside founders - excited by the challenge of helping them collaborate with a global organization.

  • High autonomy with a track record of ideating and executing cross-functional projects and partnerships across a global organization.

  • Track record of successfully creating and executing initiatives subject to measurable criteria.

  • Experience in fast-paced SaaS technology environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Familiarity with the Salesforce Product Suite and its use cases is a plus.

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrates a firm commitment to Salesforce and Salesforce Venture's values, fostering a healthy and inclusive team culture.
