    Retail Store Manager 

    ABOUT FILSON

    YOUR JOB 

    The Retail Manager is responsible for managing the Filson company retail store. The Filson brand is built on a reputation for excellent product quality and performance as well as exceptional customer service. This position serves customers by providing merchandise; supervising staff. In addition, the Retail Manager, in conjunction with Filson's Marketing department, is responsible for store promotion and advertising to the local community. Grass root events are an important part of this promotion, and the Manager is the primary liaison with these groups and events. 

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Provide exceptional service to all customers through sales, customer service and clientele. 
    • Establishes rapport with current and potential customers to identify needs, and with other persons who can offer increased understanding of service expectations  
    • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employee following up on work results 
    • Selects store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees 
    • Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and discipline employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. 
    • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.  
    • Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios. 
    • Ensures availability of merchandise and services by approving shipments, maintaining inventories. 
    • Ensure that Filson Standards and Operating Standards are met or exceeded to support brand consistency. 
    • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store and backroom environment 
    • Responsible for overall appearance of the store, including mechanical operations, fixtures, and overall maintenance. Ensure that outside services for maintenance and improvement are recruited as needed. 
    • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and company policies and procedures. 
    • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements 
    • Be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. 
    • Ability to monitor, address and coach to HR functions and policies, including conflict resolution, performance management tools and processes, Brand policies, local and State laws.  
    • Administer and advocate policies and procedures that foster fair, consistent and equitable treatment for all. Regardless of personal interests, support decisions made by our organizations that are both ethical and legal.
    • Regularly and consistently abides by the Time & Attendance policy and all policies and procedures included within
    • Regularly and consistently abides by the Standards of Conduct and Ethics, and all policies and procedures included within
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  
    • Must be 18+ yrs old 
    • Exceptional selling skills, customer service, and proven clientele experience
    • 5 + years management in Retail Operations and People Leadership positions
    • Management proficiency, strong Leadership skills, and high volume business experience
    • Tracking budgets, expenses, and financial acumen
    • Self-motivated and Results Driven 
    • People development, coaching, action planning, and growth plan experience
    • Friendly and outgoing; service mentality 
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
    • PC based computer skills; with Word, Excel, and telecommunication experience 
    • Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings   

    REQUIREMENTS 

    • Able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds 
    • Able to reach overhead 
    • Able to pull clothing and luggage from shelves 
    • Able to bend, kneel, or stoop 
    • Must be able to stand for lengthy periods of time 
    • Some travel is required 
    • Able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings

      Compensation can be negotiated based on previous experience & qualifications.
      • Starting at $85,904 - $105,518 salary per year
    • Bonus eligibility:
