Position Summary:
Do you enjoy working outdoors and playing a behind-the-scenes role in creating memorable experiences for others? This spring, join us at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, TN, where you'll play a key part in preparing and maintaining our baseball complex for youth teams and families from all over the country. You'll assist with day-to-day operations that help deliver an unforgettable tournament experience. This is a paid internship; we will work with your college/university for you to receive college credit towards your graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with field setup, facility cleanliness, trash removal, and hydration station prep and various tasks essential to the operation of the complex.
  • Safely operating equipment for grounds and field maintenance such as tractors, golf carts, UTVs, and more.
  • Helping to maintain all aspects of the facility's infrastructure, including artificial turf fields.
  • Conducting safety and cleanliness checks for both fans and players.
  • Helping spot and report maintenance issues around the complex - from HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigating, turf, landscaping and paved surfaces.
  • Bring a positive, customer-centered approach to every interaction, whether you're supporting a teammate or assisting a guest.
  • Be a sponge - stay coachable, show initiative, and represent the Ripken brand with pride and professionalism every day.
  • Supporting other departments, including operations, food & beverage, and retail, when needed.
  • Being a part of delivering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for youth athletes and their families.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Recent graduate, or currently working towards a bachelor's degree
  • Prior work experience or an interest in a career in Facilities or Grounds Maintenance or willingness to learn
  • Outgoing, high-energy personality with strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented problem-solver with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, ready to work long hours and weekends as needed based on business needs
  • Reliable transportation
Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:
  • You may be required to lift up to 70 lbs., may be exposed to dust/dirt at the complex, and may be exposed to extreme hot temperatures
