Associate Leader

Are you someone who knows how take initiative, assume responsibility, and execute procedures thoroughly to allow the store to smoothly operate? We are seeking outstanding candidates to The Cool Hardware Company, Inc., a cooperative of 13 Ace Hardware stores in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We are locally owned, community focused, and we value each and every one our team mates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct staff and adhere to company policies as they relate to the store operations, such as: receiving merchandise, managing cash register transactions and daily cash reconciliation, keeping track of inventory, etc.
  • Correctly opening and/or closing the store as dictated by the schedule
  • Report to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager for any possible issues during the shift they work. Issues such as: employee, customer, product issues, etc.
  • Interact with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Serve as a role model for safety and enforce safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Ability to gather and analyze data and maintain accurate records
  • Minimum of 6 months-1 year of retail experience
  • Technically proficient in computer systems including related software
  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred
  • Work extended periods standing, lift large items, available weekends and holidays
