Cyber Security Engineer

Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer
Location: USA / On-site
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Cyber Security Engineer to protect systems, networks, applications, and data from security threats. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security systems, networks, and applications for potential threats.
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to security incidents.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze security logs and alerts using SIEM tools.
  • Assist with threat detection, incident response, and security investigations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and security audits.
  • Work with IT and development teams to resolve security vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain documentation related to security incidents and controls.
  • Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Cybersecurity fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and networking.
  • Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or QRadar.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, endpoint security, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7.
  • Understanding of incident response and threat detection.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows security.
  • Familiarity with cloud security (AWS/Azure).
  • Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CySA+, CISSP, or OSCP are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud security and identity/access management.
  • Experience with EDR/XDR and vulnerability management platforms.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 1-3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in a security operations or enterprise IT environment or .
  • Strong understanding of current cybersecurity threats and attack techniques.
